Anthony Price, captain of Penn’s 1979 Final Four basketball team and founder of Paying the Price Foundation, partners with the Netter Center for Community Partnerships, Penn Alumni Families, and Penn Alumni Relations to host this basketball clinic for children of Penn alumni and West Philadelphia youth ages (8-18). Proceeds from this event will help support the West Philly youth sports programming operated by the Netter Center.

Moderated by Nick Spitzer, public radio host and anthropologist, this panel will address the changes in culture, arts, politics, and society as experienced on and off campus by students at Penn. Featuring discussions with renowned novelist/essayist David Bradley, C’72, Ira Harkavy,C’70, GR79, Associate Vice-President and Founding Director of the Netter Center for Community Partnerships at Penn, Episcopalian Minister and environmentalist Jane Brady, C’72, and other speakers still to be determined.

As the Netter Center for Community Partnerships heads into its 25th Anniversary, hear from founding director Ira Harkavy (C’70, GR’79), alumni representing various reunion years, and a 2017 graduate about the many aspects—and lasting impact—of Penn’s local engagement with its West Philadelphia community.  Light reception to follow.  (Co-sponsored by the Class of 1992.)
