Joann Weeks is an associate director of the University of Pennsylvania’s Netter Center for Community Partnerships, focusing on its regional, national and international programs. She directs the national adaptation of the Netter Center’s university-assisted community school program, as well as its training and technical assistance activities, including the university-assisted community schools network. She supervises the staff of the Philadelphia Higher Education Network for Neighborhood Development (PHENND), a consortium of nearly 30 institutions of higher education in the Philadelphia region, as well as the Netter Center’s evaluation activities. She is Executive Secretary for the International Consortium for Higher Education, Civic Responsibility and Democracy, which works in collaboration with the Council of Europe. Ms. Weeks has worked closely with the national Coalition for Community Schools since its inception in 1997 and is a member of its Community School Leaders Network and Steering Committee. Ms. Weeks is editor of Penn’s Universities and Community Schools journal.
