PENN UNDERGRADUATES:  if you are looking for summer opportunities, consider applying for the Netter Center's Penn Program For Public Service Internship!

We are having an info session next Wed 1/18 5pm at the Netter Center (111 South 38th street, 2nd floor) for those interested in learning more. You will also be able to talk to past program participants.

This is a 12-week multi-faceted summer program that immerses approximately 15 undergraduates in real-world problem solving in the West Philadelphia-Penn community. The program consists of

A seminar in Urban University-Community Relations with the Founding Director of our Center, Dr. Ira Harkavy. The seminar will culminate in a problem-solving learning paper, through which students write proposals for how to tackle pertinent issues in the Penn/West Philadelphia community (free course credit)

A 30-35-hour internship in one of our summer programs at the NetterCenter's partner K-8 and high schools in West Philadelphia (paid internship)

Free housing for the duration of the program (5/30-8/11)
