Teaching Controversial Issues in American Schools

March 16, 2017

This special talk, sponsored by the Teacher Education program at GSE and the Netter Center for Community Partnerships was developed primarily for undergraduates. We all want to teach for social justice. But what are the consequences? Hear acclaimed historian of education, and new Penn faculty member, Dr. Jonathan Zimmerman, an animated, dynamic speaker, talk about his research on this subject, followed by several Philadelphia public school teachers who have taught about controversial subjects and kept their jobs!

Food will be served.
