Annenberg doctoral candidate Ava Kikut, one of the 2020-2022 Provost's Graduate Academic Engagement Fellows at the Netter Center (PGAEF@NC), was spotlighted in Penn Today! Working in partnership with Netter colleagues Paulette Branson and Katey Givan, Ava designed and taught ABCS course "Youth Driven Health Campaigns," in which Penn students and UACS high school students used Youth Participatory Action Research (YPAR) to identify problems around mental health and vaccinations and help develop media solutions. Ava is currently integrating this experience and her ongoing community-engaged scholarship into her Ph.D dissertation. PGAEF@NC welcomed its fourth cohort of students this April, and Ava's course is one of ten ABCS courses that has been or will be created and taught by a PGAEF@NC fellow.
